Being a Team Leader
What’s involved
Every year Thrive Africa collaborates with universities from across the UK, to offer their students the opportunity to volunteer abroad on development projects.
We need team leaders who are able to lead a group of volunteers and offer them pre-departure and in-country support.
Team leaders are given all the training, resources and support they need to be able to organise and motivate their group.
Team leaders will have a group of around 15 volunteers to which they are responsible. You’ll help organise fundraising events, arrange flights, offer advice and lead them during projects in Ghana.
You’ll need to be available to volunteer between 2 & 6 hours per week.
What we’re looking for
Someone with a genuine interest in development with the ability to motivate and lead.
An organised and responsible individual who can be a positive front person for Thrive Africa.
Volunteer trips take part during university holidays, team leaders will need to be available in either April, June, July, August or September.
Team leaders who would like to partake in a trip during 2012 need to apply before the end of 2011 and preferably apply before the end of October 2011.
Your entitlement
Team leaders will be given the following entitlements:
- Training, advice & support
- Assistance in organising events
- All project food, travel & accommodation in Ghana
- Discounted travel insurance
- Written reference upon completion of placement
- 24/7 In-country emergency support
